Ziggy

Ziggy, a brown-striped tabby, is the featured feline in the book, Secrets I Learned From Ordinary House Cats by Rosemary Augustine. He also will hold your personal secrets in a book called Ziggy’s Secrets which is an internet password keeper for human use.  He also stars in a Cat Video by Curtis Remington (you’ll find a link to this video right here on this website).

Ziggy was adopted in the spring of 2005 along with his litter mate and brother, Zack.  Often a shy kitten, he grew into a very curious feline and often a close companion to his human.  He never liked any of his pet sitters, and would hiss at them consistently.  Several sitters refused to come back because they were so afraid of him… yet he was a lap cat with his human.  During his lifetime with his human companion, Rosemary Augustine, he lived in the same apartment for eight years, and then moved 50 steps down the hall for another 2 years.  Although Rosemary’s mother moved in with her and Ziggy and Zack, Ziggy was never a fan of Rosemary’s mom.  Often the feeling was mutual.  Ziggy had a way about him that was so mysterious, his look would be unnerving.  His last pet sitter would sing to him to calm both her and him.

We continue to celebrate Ziggy’s life even today rather than mourn his death.  Ziggy remains the artistic muse for his human companion both with her writing and creating art – even now long after his death.  Many artistic renderings of Ziggy and other felines continue to be an artistic staple in Rosemary’s life as an artist.

Ziggy carries on and continues in spirit … Miss you my best buddy.
