Books About Cats (and a Dog)

by Rosemary Augustine

Rosemary Augustine has written numerous books, over 12 to be exact.  However, Secrets I Learned From Ordinary House Cats was her first book about cats.  Watching her kittens Ziggy and Zack (pictured below in a flower pot) grow into adults was an eye opener and hence she started writing their secrets.  Before she knew it, she had enough material for a book and ultimately published it.

Not long after Secrets I Learned … came Ziggy’s Secrets, an Internet Password keeper for human use… large and easy to use, the book holds over 500 passwords without anyone knowing it’s contents – holding all your passwords (or secrets).  Rosemary even created a dog version, with a cute little dog named Jenny on the cover.  Yes, it’s true, Jenny is a dog and doesn’t belong on a cat website… But maybe some of my cat lovers who visit may also have a dog or know some dog people that would love for Jenny to hold their secret passwords.

The hardest book for Rosemary to publish was Adventures with Byron (aka Byron’s Story).  Byron traveled with Rosemary and it was over 10 years after Byron’s passing, that finally she could bring herself to finish the book.  Most of the stories were written during Byron’s life, but the grief was so deep, it was difficult for her to review her writings in order for her to send off to her editor.  Eventually, Ziggy stepped in and finished the last chapter for her through stream of consciousness.

The newest release is The Secret Staircase.  A fictional story of a cat wanting to escape and in doing so, finds adventure, danger, and many friends along the way.  There are many other books by Rosemary Augustine, these are just a few.  Use the pull down menu and the link to Amazon or direct to the publisher to purchase any of the cat books.  Rosemary’s many other books can be found using this link to access her personal website – Rosemary Augustine
