Milo

When Rosemary Augustine lived in Berwyn, PA, Milo was a neighbor’s kitty that she pet sat for 6 weeks in the summer of 2014.  Milo was a true escape artist, as he would jump off the 2nd floor balcony railing and roam the neighborhood, only to find it difficult to get back into a secure building.  He would often sit at the back door of Building A waiting for someone to open it.  He was often found wondering the second floor hallway when his owner was out for the day.

Rosemary remembers Milo as a real lovebug.  His owner spoke Polish to him, so he really didn’t understand English, but he understood love.  He would snuggle with you, sit with you and loved the hours that you spent with him during the six weeks of twice daily pet care.  Not long after the neighbor returned from her trip did Rosemary learn that her neighbor and Milo would be moving to Warsaw, Poland later that year.  Once they settled in, Milo adapted quite easily to his new surroundings in Warsaw.

Since Milo was a kitty that often escaped and would return, his name was used as the main character in the book, The Secret Staircase by Rosemary Augustine.  He was a love bug in real life.  Not sure if he is still with us – alive and well and living in Warsaw – but regardless he is worthy of a page on this website and a kitty who graced the life of author Rosemary Augustine.
